PETALING JAYA, Thursday, 15 September 2011 - Packet One
Network(Malaysia) Sdn.Bhd. ("P1"), Malaysia’s first and leading 4G wireless
broadband service provider is keeping its promise of delivering the best value broadband
packages in the market by offering its customers their money back if they can find
a better value broadband plan than its new ONE 69 Plan.
"We are so sure that our new ONE 69 Plan is the absolute best value in the
market at the time of launch that we’ll give our customers their money back
if they can find a better broadband bundle plan in Malaysia!" said Michael
Lai, CEO of P1.
P1 is the only broadband service provider to offer a money back guarantee.
The P1 4G ONE 69 Plan is an additional plan to the three existing ONE Plan offerings.
P1 launched the ONE Plan earlier in July, but today added this extra plan to ensure
all Malaysians can afford quality 4G broadband at home and on-the-go.
According to Lai, the ONE Plan is one of a kind giving customers excellent 3 in
1 value. Two modems - a powerful P1 4G home modem with WiFi and a nifty P1 4G on-the-go
modem – and voice.
Subscribers to the ONE 69 plan will only pay RM49 as a special introductory offer
for the first three months. The ONE 69 Plan offers speeds of 1Mbps for both modems
and a shared quota of 3GB. It also includes 100 minutes of free voice calls to local
fixed and mobile numbers and IDD calls to 10 popular destinations including Singapore,
China and Hong Kong.
The ONE Plan was created following a P1 research by Frost & Sullivan which showed
that 93% of broadband users in Malaysia compromised their broadband experience by
using their mobile dongles at home and, as a result, were frustrated with their
broadband services.
Lai explained, "Mobile dongles are optimized for outdoor use, not indoor use.
For indoor use, you need a device with a larger antenna and connected to a higher
voltage power source to ensure stronger signal strength. The comparatively weaker
mobile dongle with smaller antenna and powered via the laptop would not be able
to perform as well as a home modem, especially through layers of walls indoors."
Customers are also compromising their broadband experience when using the dongle
at home because usage quotas on mobile broadband plans are meant only for light
surfing, emails and keeping up to date with social media networks such as Facebook
and Twitter, not for heavy use. Using a mobile dongle at home also means you miss
out on sharing your Internet with others. The HOME modem provides WiFi for your
whole house so that up to ten different devices can log on and use the same Internet
account. That includes any device which is WiFi-enabled such as the iPhone, iPad,
Blackberry, Android phones, smart phones and PS3 to name a few.
"Using the right modem in the right environment is very important to get a
better broadband experience. Using your mobile dongle at home is ‘POTONG STIM™!,"
Lai said.
To promote its new One Plan, P1’s latest campaign lives up to its cheeky brand
image with the tagline of "Lagi Potong Stim." Starting from today, P1
will be running an integrated campaign across national newspapers, magazines, and
radio. Social media and ground events will feature heavily in the campaign.
